THERMOHARDENING RESINS
|
Definition : Qualify a polymer which can to be used only one time, and which becomes infusible and insoluble after polymerisation. Once hardened, their form cannot be modified any more. Polymerisation can be generated by a rise in temperature (hot resins) or chemicals type catalysts (cold resins). After polymerisation and hardening, a new rise in temperature will not allow the product to return in its initial state (liquid or pasty). The principal ones are: unsaturated polyesters epoxies the phenolic ones |
